I remember when the Philippines craze of wood kicked off a few years ago, a good friend will remember the wood i got my hands on. His reply was “are you sure this is real”. It was a rare sight, literally thick chunks of black logs of agarwood oozing with resin, from trees that were no doubt hundreds of years old. How i wish id kept some of that wood as it was quality that is hard to find.
Fast foward and after many requests from people for an oil from the Phillipines, finally we have completed and juiced one of the finest oils you will put your nose to from this reigon. 9kg of incense grade Aquilaria Cumingiana was collected from Leyte Island, ground up, zero soak and cooked in copper for 20 days. The colour a deep golden green, a lovely silky viscosity and the smell, simply mind blowing! The questions i keep asking myself, how can a fresh oil smell so amazing? How can a smell be so clean yet so deep and mesmerising?
Ive named this oil after the black panther, as it is so dark yet mysterious, elegant and beautiful, a perfume in itself with every single note in perfect harmony. I want to wait until a few other oils are sold out before i officially release this, but its a crime to keep Ouddict members from not being able to smell this and compare it to the other Filipino oils in your Oud stash.
Sniffing this from the dipstick is enough, its as if the jungles of the Philippines are escaping from the bottle and hitting you straight in the soul.
Upon application you are struck with the smell of ancient sweet oozing resin, dark licorice, juicy dark purple & blue wild flowers, incense bubbling away on low heat, bittersweet medicinal herbs, luscious greenery, glazed ripe cherries, ripe mangoes, dark spices, a deep dry earthiness as the oil moves on it gets darker and darker woodier and woodier with a solid dark Oudy base.
This is 100% a benchmark oil and an oil everyone should try. The cost of the wood was expensive and im trying to keep the price as fair as possible.
This will no doubt be one of the finest Filipino oils to hit your nose!
