Sultan Hijau is a oil which stands out for me hence the name, its an oil that is bright while at the same time being dark. The scent is very mysterious, alluring and complex, it really does take alot of wearing to fully understand what you are smelling. The raw material for this oil is from Terrenganu Malaysia and it is a wild incense grade oil distilled in copper with no soak. The oil is aged now for a few months but it smells already like a very mature oil, zero barn or funk with each and every note in harmony and proportion. Smooth, elegant, crystalline, refined and powerful. The colour of the oil a deep light golden brown with a tinge of green.
When smelling the oil off the dipstick i get a distinct smell of baked lemon cheesecake which is really interesting. The oil opens with a burst of dark golden piercing incense, like smelling a raw piece of king grade agarwood oozing with resin. Theres a spicy earthy aspect which reminds me of lush rainforests laden with dark spices, the chip on low heat aroma is there from start to end with this oil and woods well lots of wood. Theres also orange peel and dried citrus fruit skins. The middle of the oil transitions to purple florals, blue lotus, wild jungle flowers and moves to a melted dark chocolate, tobbaco and a powdery woody antique base with gentle wisps of smoke.
This is definatley an oil for those who enjoy a real diverse set of notes and has a real calming and grounding vibe.
