Oud Chachak is a representation of the classic style Cambodian oud, crafted from naturally infected plantation wood sourced from Koh Kong. With a minimal soak and steel pot distillation, we’ve captured the darker, incensy spectrum of Cambodian Oud.
The oil boasts a dark brown hue with an orange tint and a lovely consistency. Off the dipstick, it’s striking – a strong, dark smell of raw woods, bitter tobacco, wisps of smoke, and old wooden chests filled with coffee beans. Upon application, it unleashes an intense dose of raw Oud wood, sweet smooth leather, and raw pipe tobacco, with a hint of ripe cherries and a subtle smokiness reminiscent of pipe smoke infused with honey.
As it dries down, the oil becomes sweeter and earthier, with a seductive and addictive quality, like a chip on low heat bubbling away. There’s a faint sweet barn note, more akin to a horse stable than anything funky. This oil is a potent and complex representation of Cambodian Oud, perfect for both newcomers and seasoned enthusiasts.
